Information
for Maine Coast & Lighthouses Photo Workshop
Cost: $850
including print element. Discounts for early birds, BCPA alumni, and members
of established photo associations (proof required).
Transportation, lodging, meals, and personal expenses are the responsibility of the participants.
Payments:
We accept PayPal and credit card payments through PayPal. Please e-mail a copy of your completed Application pages so we can coordinate your deposit/payment with your acceptance.
Trip Insurance:
It is never a bad idea to buy trip insurance and sometimes, even travel health
insurance. Insure My Trip is
one website that has been written up in the New York Times, Washington Post,
etc. and lists a number of reliable companies that deal with travel insurance
along with price comparisons. When you shop, look carefully at the coverage offered
to make sure it meets your needs. Insure My Trip, by the way, is a BBB
Accredited business.
Accommodations: (link will open in a separate browser window)
We are in the process of negotiating some excellent rates
with The
Bradley Inn
3063 Bristol Rd
New Harbor, ME 04554.
When we have everything all set, we'll list the contact number here so you can
call and tell them you are with Barefoot Contessa Photo Adventures. This lovely
old inn is conveniently located close to most of our favorite spots, including
our favorite fish shack. Take advantage of the discounted rates and the long weekend to putter around after the workshop ends and return to your favorite workshop locations or explore others.
As always, we recommend making reservations early (we've
made ours), as the inn fills up quickly, and the discount rates are first-come/first serve. For those who miss out on our selection,
check out other possibilities in the Damariscotta
and Rockland area, including the nearby
Hotel Pemaquid (I
found some of my photographs in a book they had on display). For a modest charge, the Bradley Inn will provide breakfast to any in our group who stay at Hotel Pemaquid.
Airport:
The nearest major Airport is
Portland International Jetport in Portland, ME (PWM), a bit over an hour and
a half from New Harbor. Other options include Manchester, NH (MHT), a bit over
three hours away, and Boston, MA (BOS), a little less than three and a half
hours away.
Rental Cars:
Because we stop in out-of-the-way locations where the roads may be narrow, we
encourage car sharing. If you are interested in sharing a rental car with others,
let us know. We'll pool those who respond and get you in touch with one another
to make your own plans. We can't guarantee that there will be takers, so we also
recommend that you rent a car, as you can always cancel later. That way, you
won't find your car of choice no longer available.
PRIVACY POLICY: Barefoot Contessa Photo Adventures is respectful of your privacy and any information you give us, either through our interactive forms or via e-Mail. We are committed to ensuring the security and safety of this information. To that end, our policies are outlined in our Privacy Statement.
