Travel Insurance

Lightroom 5 Workshops

We highly recommend trip insurance — particularly for overseas trips — that includes travel health insurance. There are many possibilities out there, and everyone's needs and budgets are different.

There are several review sites, but start with the following that have a list of highly-rated companies:

There are certain companies that continually, year after year, make the top-ten list (in alphabetical order):

Check it all out. And in reviewing, make sure the company is a BBB Accredited business with an A+ rating. As of this update, all four companies above have the coveted A+ rating. Always get a quote and do not decide on price alone.

The cost for travel insurance is typically 4-7% of the total trip cost, depending upon age and other variable factors.  Our travel agent, Paula Jaye, regularly uses Travelex for her clients.

For those who wish to check out Travelex click here to get a quote. There are four plans:

Because selecting the right insurance for you can be confusing, we recommend chatting with an agent to understand the ins and outs of travel and/or travel medical insurance at:

       Travelex Insurance Services
       800-228-9792 and mention:
       Barefoot Contessa Photo Adventures #27-6058

Travelex offers medical insurance as part of its plans.  For pre-existing conditions, be sure to let them know, so they can make sure you are properly covered.

Travelex is not the only good game in town. Cuba Cultural Travel (CCT), for example, uses USI Travel Insurance Services, noted above. This company already has CCT's license certificate number from the Office of Foreign Assets Control.

Be careful, as some companies only insure in the US and Canada, while others have a good reputation for insuring world wide.
