July 19, 2025 | Saturday at 4:00 | Many come in Friday and leave Sunday after brunch.
Out of respect to fellow alumni, some of whom may be immune compromised, please make sure you have been vaccinated and boosted according to current CDC guidelines.
This annual celebration has proven to be quite popular and now has a standard date, the third Saturday after the 4th of July to stay away from the Independence Day celebrations and vacations. lt is an official BCPA event, so we need applications, although the only fee is a potluck contributon. I may need to limit numbers in case of rain. My house will only hold so many people, and It is more fun if everyone has a chance to catch up with others, meet new people, and generally relax and have a great time.
AND, please fill out the BCPA Runion Registration, so I can plan for numbers and send out the official invittion in the spring.
Starting with just locals, people from other states felt left out and joined us ... California and Texas. Since then, we over a dozen states represented. Open to all our alumni and a guest of their choosing. Save-the-date reminders are sent out, and the official invitation comes sometime in the spring. A number of people come in Friday for dinner at a local restaurant and leave Sunday after a tasty brunch.
Out-of-towners stay at convenient local accommodations from three to eight minutes away. Links are on the official invitation sent to all alumni on our MailChimp list.
Generally, a number of us gather for an informal supper downtown the night before and a yummy brunch the Sunday after at one or two of our local restaurants.
In between, we feature lots of fun and frivolity, corn hole and obstacle croquet, great conversation, and a potluck supper with libations of everyone's choices, some of which closer people bring, and those farther away can buy locally.
We even have a blind exchange of fine-art photographs, one per person for those who choose to take part. There has been some amazing work presented! More information is on the official invitation, and even and Margo participates.
What is most special of all is the friendships that have formed, not only in our workshops, but at this reunion, where people who have met through our Facebook or Instagram families cement those relationships in person. What fun!
With Covid a permanent part of our lives, we ask that both alumni and guests are fully vaccinated and boosted.
After all, the safety and well-being of our BCPA family is of paramount importance. For those who are unable to attend, I am continuing the Online Photo Workshops, about one a quarter.
Meanwhile, check out the BCPA calendar for upcoming workshops ...
And for out-of-towners, once again, the Holiday Inn Express just around the corner has reasonable rates if you book early. Look for your MailChimp invitation for details. And if you did not receive one, let me know, and I'll send you another one.
