Our schedule has been full, and time less than limited for writing blogs, so please forgive me. I will catch up as I can!

We returned to Rio Celeste in Tenorio Volcano National Park, this time with our group that was so excited so see the cascades.

Fortunately, the Extreme Mud Challenge (that is an Olympic sport, isn’t it), was positively tame. Yes, the path was still slippery, and yes, there was still mud, but not to the extreme of last week. Armed with new flip-flops, it was a piece of cake.

Some people looked over the brink of the last drop and decided that perhaps it wasn’t for them. After all, we would be seeing other cascades, and there were certainly plenty of other things to photograph.

When we clambered back up the steep incline, using the wire along the worst part to haul ourselves up, many concentrated on patterns. Arnie and I keep talking about the light. As I was helping one participant with a shot, I found a couple of my own.© 2012 Margo Taussig Pinkerton. All Rights Reserved. From Barefoot Contessa Photo Adventures. Once back at the park registration building, we all bellied up to the outdoor spigots to de-mud. Our shoes (well, not mine) were caked in mud that we did not want to take back onto our bus.

Everyone had a great time, and we can’t wait to see their images.

On the way back to the hotel, one of our participants suggested that we stop the bus before it crossed one of the narrow bridges, so we could photograph the crossing. Great idea! I don’t know how Paolo, our driver, negotiates the narrow roads and even narrower bridges, but he does. Every time we encounter something really challenging, we all clap and call out, “Bravo, Paulo. Bravo!”© 2012 Margo Taussig Pinkerton. All Rights Reserved. From Barefoot Contessa Photo Adventures. I hope you have noticed the wide boulevard on either side of the bridge!

Tomorrow, we head up to the Cloud Forest of Monteverde!

  1. Was beginning to worry when you missed a day. Thought you might have blown another flip flop. Really like the banner landscape with the shades of green and mist in the distance.

    1. Dave,

It’s nice we’re missed! No, as you read, the flip-flops held up just fine! Glad you like the banner landscape. You may also like one in the blog I’m writing. More anon!

Take care, and thanks for commenting!
