Exhibition & Attendant Weekend Workshop 2013-01

Day 01 – An Exhibition and a Weekend Workshop

People have been asking us about our upcoming exhibition, The Yin & Yang of the Outer Banks coming up in January at Through This Lens in Durham, NC. It will represent two sides of the Outer Banks and is a social commentary on what happens in many destination areas. There is the beautiful side of the locale that draws people. Then, there is that other side, the one where people try to make money off the beauty, not always successfully.

The exhibition will open January 18 and run through March 9, 2013, with the opening reception on Friday, January 18th, from 6:30-8:30 in the evening when Arnie and I will give an artists’ talk.

We are excited about this show, as it moves us in a different direction collaboratively than we have done before.

In conjunction with the show, we are doing a weekend workshop based at Through This Lens. This is partly in response to many who have asked for a short workshop. What better way, we thought, than to do it at the same time as our exhibit.

Through This Lens Weekend Workshop is appropriately the title, and we look forward to welcoming alumni and others to it.

It will be a shorter version of the workshops we regularly run, a combination of shooting and post-processing time. Durham is a small city rich in the arts and architecture. In short, there will plenty to tempt any visual palette.

Next: It will depend on what I had for breakfast!

  1. I MUSST see this exhibition and, most likely, take the weekend workshop. I am very interested in OBX and photographs taken there, and I look forward to learning so much more from Margo and Arnie.

    1. Dee,

We look forward to seeing you there. We had a wonderful time on the Outer Banks, as you know from the blog. It is close to home and a place we visit two or three times a year.

Thanks for chiming in, and …

      Take care,

      TBC
