Many of the Faces of Paris
Internet service in Europe can be a now-and-then affair. One can think one is online only to find that one has timed out, even though that is not supposed to happen.
And so, when I think I am ready to publish the latest blog, I find that the images never uploaded, and I need to join the workshop and head out. Ah well.
Still, the benefits and joys of being in Europe far outweigh the inconveniences and frustrations of connectivity.
Paris, the City of Light (singular, please), like any city, has many faces. As we wandered the various streets, we saw many of them. I don’t know how many miles we walked, but it must have been close to
There are always the layers and shapes of buildings.
The elderly gentleman heads toward the café, shopping bags in tow.
Fountains, both old, such as this lion, …
… And new, with a bizarre twist of humor added.
My favorite French/Parisian car, the Deux-Chevaux, with its unmistakable shape.
Eyes watching over a couple of the I.M. Pei pyramids at Le Louvre.
And sculptures in Le Louvre, both classic and modern, playing off one another with some reflections to confuse the issue.
Reading in the parks is a Parisian scene. This one is typical in this particular little park.
There are galleries galore of all types, some displaying furniture as art.
And at the end of the day, there is just the remains of dinner, complete with a residual clove of garlic in its mouth!
It was a good way to end the day.
