Workshops are a busy time, as illustrated by the fact that today’s blog is just getting published.
Yesterday, we visited Mardi. Gras World. While commercial, there is so much to photograph in this center for float making in NOLA. This is not only where floats are made, but staged for the Mardi Gras parades, and stored when the festivities are over. The work that goes into the floats is nothing short of astounding! From Disney characters, to The Green Hulk, to Pirates of the Caribbean, to fantastical floral displays, it is amazing what this center produces.
This year, I was struck by the eyes…
My interpretation of a ‘gator, where the nostrils become the eyes.
A sun, whose smile may not be so friendly, given the eyes.
A dragon, whose eye and teeth made, for me, a compelling arrangement
And finally, later in the day, a T-shirt whose message was clearly … ahem … all about eyes!
We gathered at yet another round table for dinner at another great restaurant just around the corner from our hotel. There was lots of laughter, some good conversation, and a great meal with excellent service…
Today’s health tally? Apparently Siri was taking a day off!
Next: Day 04

Loving me some NOLA!! Nice Margo.
John,
So great to hear from you, and what fun we had with you and Lois last year in New Orleans. Spotted Cat was just as good, so were our other haunts.
Take care, and thanks for commenting!
