Isle of Skye, Day 01

First Day of the Workshop

We all met for breakfast in the tartan room, toast arriving in little slotted stands, cold breakfast buffet available or hot. Service perfect!

Starting with imaging, we ended up with critiques. While we usually don’t do it to this extent, Arnie and I showed everyone some techniques in Lightroom on at least one image from everyone. It was useful, as it taught some people new ways of doing things and reminded others of alternative techniques.

Camera gear and tripods loaded into the vans, we took off for a loop road. With many stops along the way, there were all sorts of possibilities.

Sheep, gnarly trees, whitewashed houses, steep, dramatic hills, mountains, light on the water …

We have our locations marked in our Garmin, but this time, the light glowing behind some land spits, was spectacular. Chatterijg like a cat on the other side of a window from a bird, I stopped quickly in a lay-by that had room for both our vans. We poured out of the car, and this was the shot I had in mind.

Computers have their challenges, and sometimes, regardless of how careful one is, a computer can get infected. Mind did! Four hours later, and a major loss of hair, my computer is back on track!
