One Shot, Poised

Tomorrow will be the last day to try and guess what the thing is in the One Shot, Ida blog. Can’t anyone figure it out? The answer will come on Wednesday, along with a bit of an explanation.

It was the last morning of the workshop, and we headed to the seashore to photograph whatever caught our fancy.

Our group was really experimenting and having fun with their photography. They came up with some wonderful images that will be posted soon.

Just a shell, but I really liked the way it curled around. It looked as though it were poised for something.

For what, I hadn’t a clue.

It was graceful as it perched on a slight rise in the sand, and the light caught it in a nice way. This was a case when I kept walking around it and studying it to see which view I preferred.

This one won out, and again, it was a One Shot. One of our participants wanted input, so I joined him.

It’s always good to work a scene when one has the time. In this case, I worked it by studying it. At other times, I might do several shots to see what might work best.

So, when you come upon a scene, or something catches your eye, take the time to look at it, see it from different angles, and figure out how you can most effectively make the shot that reflects your vision.

We always enjoy comments.
