As some of you know, we are in Belize for our first workshop of the season. As any self-employed person knows, one has little time for oneself when one is home, so we decided to take a couple of extra days before heading down to Punta Gorda in Toledo in the South…
Bare feet, shorts, sarongs, are all the norm. I’m happy!…
Arnie just happened upon the latest example of what might be deemed the ultimate in Scumbaggery, Pilfered, an online magazine/blog that says on its About page:
“PILFERED is a place where artists, photographers, designers, and the inspired can submit their favorite visuals pilfered from the web to share with one another. Founded on the spirit of web democracy, and built to aid in communicating ideas and concepts, PILFERED Magazine aims to assist in speaking the thousand words – visually.”
I’ve been busy with the website, and as I was going through both Arnie’s and my photographs from Canyon de Chelly, Arches, Canyonlands, and the Moab areas to update our galleries with new images, I was struck again by the similarities and differences when we photograph in the same location.
We both loved photographing in the badlands of northeastern Arizona. The textures were amazing, even though the soil was parched and monochromatic. Arnie made his photograph moody and stormy, while I kept it really simple and used small plants to add some subtle color to the scene
