BCPA is returning to Santa Fé and Taos in the heart of Pueblo country. Artists, both native and non-native, have done their interpretations of what they see and feel about this stunning country that ranges from snow-capped mountains in season to desert.

This is a part of the country rich in art, from Georgia O'Keeffe to photographers such as Alfred Stieglitz, Philippe Halsman, Paul Strand, Edward Weston, Ansel Adams, and others. From Abiquiu to Taos to some pueblos, we will visit many of the areas these iconic artists loved and do our own interpretations of the scenes. There is much to explore and inspire your artistic eye. But for Margo, the artists that repeatedly capture her attention are the pueblo artists. We hope to be lucky enough to see some working on their jewelry, pottery, paintings, etc.

Because there is so much to see, this workshop is one day longer with two more photo shoots. We will start off in Santa Fé, then move to Taos where we'll end our workshop.

We always hope to be able to visit the famous Taos Pueblo, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, but that depends upon the pueblo and if they have ceremonies that take precedence. But if they do, there are other wonderful pueblos to visit.

Along the way, we will head to Abiquiu where Georgia O'Keeffe "held court" and hosted so many artists. There is the famous Ghost Ranch, the tiny town of Abiquiu, and so much to photograph in each location.

If time permits, we will take in the impressive views from Rio Grande Gorge Bridge, the Millicent Rogers Museum with over 1,000 years of Southwestern art and culture, some of the missions along the High Road between Santa Fé and Taos, pueblos outside of Santa Fé that have produced many famous artists, including Margo's favorite that boasted such famous artists as Maria Martinez and Blue Corn.

Here, you'll be able to celebrate your passion for photography, hone your seeing and imaging skills, and learn about the magic of light to make wonderful photographs.

Our non-smoking inns are conveniently located, but it is best to book early to get the room you want, and especially if you want to extend your stay.

Fees:  Standard $2,380 | Alumni $2,024 | Association $2,144 | Early-bird Special @ Association rate but by check (see parameters)

Travel insurance is highly recommended to ensure protection against any unforeseeable events. BCPA is a small company and cannot be held liable for those who choose not to buy trip insurance.  Sharon Erickson, our trusty travel agent, can help you with that. And, no, I do not get any credit for referring you to her, only a thank you!
