Exhibition:  Arnold Zann Photography Retrospective

Arnold "Arnie" Zann, started his career in his early 20s photographing for the Chicago American, a large afternoon daily, covering civil rights, politics, and other social issues of the day. Soon thereafter, while still a staffer on the daily, he started working for LIFE and Time and was soon published in almost every major magazine in the world, including National Geographic, Paris Match, GEO, Fortune, New York Times Sunday Magazine, and others.

Arnie traveled the world for editorial and Fortune 100 and 500 clients. In fact, earlier in his career, he was listed as one of the top ten corporate photographers in America. His knowledge of the zone system and dramatic lighting brought strength to his photographs. He always had an uncanny eye for what photographs would become effective black and whites, his first love in photography.

Arnie's photography is in a number of collectons and museums, including Eastman House, the Museum of Contemporary Photography in Chicago, and The Deloitte Collection at the University of Mississippi..

This retrospective will take you from A to Z, starting with black-and-white prints from social and political issues of the 60s and 70s to Arnie's editorial and corporate work. There will also be a number of personal photographs that have been in exhibitions with his wife Margo Taussig Pinkerton. And you will even find a signed presidential campaign poster.
